A pair of black Sheer Stockings with Backseam from Leg Avenue, the long-running US lingerie maker. Sheer nylon hosiery designed to be worn with a suspender belt rather than as stay-ups: there is no silicone grip band, so suspenders are required for any extended wear. a classic Cuban-heel-style backseam running up the rear of each leg.
UK sizing 6 to 12 (one-size design, the elasticated nylon flexes across the range). The sheer construction is the line's reason for being: thin enough to read as bare leg from a distance, finished enough to hold a clean line up the leg.
Hand-wash in cool water with a mild soap, lay flat to dry. Like any sheer nylon, snags happen; long fingernails are the usual culprit. Store loose rather than balled up.
