We work in any material (English oak, walnut, beech, ash, black-stained pine; welded mild steel; medical-grade 316L stainless), in any finish (oil, wax, lacquer, stain, powder-coat in any RAL colour, raw matte, polished mirror), and in any style (Victorian, Mid-Century, Brutalist, Edwardian, Scandinavian, contemporary minimal, full Gothic). BondageBox runs the only British workshop building bondage furniture to commission across both wood and steel, 6–9 week lead time, working load 200 kg+, two-person UK delivery and in-room assembly included, 10-year guarantee.

The programme

Three pieces in stock, the rest to your room.

Three of our most-asked-for pieces are below, built in batches, available with a six- to nine-week lead time. Anything else, we make to your specification, in conversation with you.

Crosses, benches, beds with concealed anchors, wall-mounted racks that read as coat rails. Mild steel as standard; medical-grade stainless steel, brass and oak available on request.

Imported flat-pack

£200–£500

MDF and chrome. Bolt-together joinery. Bonded-leather cuff loops. Sold under several rebadged brands.

Expected life: 2–3 years before joints loosen or leather cracks.

High-street upholstered

£600–£1,200

Pine frame, faux-leather wrap, hidden brackets. Built to a price point. Visually convincing on day one.

Expected life: 5–7 years; less under serious use.

BondageBox commission

From £900

Solid oak / walnut / ash, mortise-and-tenon joinery, full-grain bridle leather, 316L stainless hardware. Built to your spec.

Expected life: 20+ years. We routinely service decade-old pieces back to as-new.

"The price gap is real because the lifespan gap is real."

Where it's built

Made in Britain.

Every commissioned piece passes through three British workshops. Timber is milled and steel is welded in the same Hertfordshire workshop that takes the brief. Finishing, oils, lacquers, powder-coats, is done in Leeds. The leather components are hand-stitched in Halifax, using full-grain English bridle leather pull-tested to working load.

Three workshops, one supply chain, the same team on every commission. We can tell you which timber species is on every piece and which grade of leather is on every cuff loop, because both come from suppliers we've used since the programme began.

What gets commissioned

The recurring three

Wall-mounted St Andrew's cross

Demountable, with leather components that lift off so the piece reads as a frame when not in use. The most-asked-for build for couples who don't live alone, discreet by design.

Spanking bench, sized to you

Built to a measured height for the partner using it. Solid oak frame, full-grain bridle leather pad with replaceable lacing. The bench most likely to outlast its owners.

Bondage bed frame with concealed anchors

Looks like a serious piece of bedroom furniture. Mortise-and-tenon corners, anchor points concealed at the head, foot and rails. Made up, it's a bed; turned down, the points are there.

Materials & finish

Built to last, finished to fit.

Every piece is built either as a welded steel skeleton or in solid hardwood, wood and steel are equal-weight options, not "standard plus upgrade". Steel is mild (powder-coat) or medical-grade 316L stainless. Wood is English oak, walnut, beech, ash, cherry, mahogany, sapele or black-stained pine. All hardware is solid; nothing on the structure is plated, bolted, or veneered.

Wood finishes: oil (Danish, tung, linseed), wax, lacquer matte through high-gloss, stain in any mixed colour, ebonising, fuming, lime-wash. Steel finishes: powder-coat in any RAL colour, raw mild matte, polished mirror, brushed satin, brass-plated. Custom finishes add 1–2 weeks of lead time.

Style: bring a reference image and we'll build to it. Past commissions cover Victorian, Mid-Century, Brutalist, Edwardian, Scandinavian, contemporary minimal and Gothic / scene-quality builds. Where leather appears (cuff loops, headrests, bench tops) it is full-grain English bridle, hand-stitched in Halifax.

Frequently Asked

The detail bits
Where can I buy custom bondage furniture in the UK?
BondageBox is the only British workshop building bondage furniture to commission across both wood and steel. Pieces include St Andrew's crosses, spanking benches, pillories, ankle / wrist stockades, bondage beds, sex chairs, bondage thrones, queening chairs, kneelers and suspension frames. We mill timber and weld steel in our UK workshop, finish in Leeds, and hand-stitch the leather components in Halifax. Two-person UK delivery and in-room assembly included on every commission.
Can you build bondage furniture in wood instead of steel?
Yes. wood is a primary material option, not an upgrade. We work in English oak, walnut, beech, ash, cherry, mahogany, sapele and black-stained pine. Hardware (hinges, anchor points, cuff loops) is solid steel either powder-coated or polished to match the wood finish. Wood-on-wood joinery is mortise-and-tenon (not bolted) for the same load-rated permanence as our welded-steel pieces.
What styles of bondage furniture do you build?
Any style. We routinely deliver in Victorian (turned legs, brass hardware, dark walnut), Mid-Century (clean tapered legs, oil-rubbed teak), Brutalist (raw mild steel, exposed welds, matte black), Edwardian (carved oak, leather buttoning), Scandinavian (pale ash, minimal lines), contemporary minimal (powder-coat black or white, hidden hardware) and Gothic / scene-quality (heavy oak with steel banding, deep stain, brass nailheads). Bring a reference image; we'll build to it.
What finishes are available on custom bondage furniture?
Wood: oil (Danish, tung, linseed), wax (Briwax, Osmo), lacquer (matte to high-gloss), stain in any colour we can mix, ebonising, fuming, lime-wash. Steel: powder-coat in any RAL colour, raw mild matte, polished mirror, brushed satin, brass-plated. Leather: vegetable-tanned natural through deep ox-blood; bridle leather in tan / chestnut / black. Custom finishes add 1–2 weeks lead time.
How much does custom bondage furniture cost?
Wood-construction pieces typically start at £400 (compact wood spanking bench) and rise to £3,500+ (full bondage bed in solid walnut). Steel pieces start at £500. The same St Andrew's cross runs £600–£900 in mild steel powder-coat, £900–£1,400 in solid oak, £1,200–£1,800 in 316L stainless or premium walnut. Quotes are fixed-price after one round of conversation; deposit is 50% on agreed sketch, balance on delivery.
How long does custom bondage furniture take to make?
Standard lead time is 6–9 weeks from agreed sketch, wood and steel pieces share the same window because we run two parallel build streams. Custom finishes (specialty stains, two-tone colours, hand-carving) add 1–2 weeks. International shipping adds 2–3 weeks for boxing and freight. We send progress photographs at the halfway point.
What weight does a BondageBox bondage frame hold?
All standard pieces are rated for a 200 kg+ working load, well above realistic occupancy for two adults plus equipment. Wood pieces use mortise-and-tenon joinery (no bolts); steel is continuously welded (no bolt-together). Both are load-tested before shipping. We can build to a higher rating on request; structural changes after the third revision round are quoted separately.
Do you ship custom bondage furniture discreetly?
Yes. every piece arrives in plain unmarked outer crating with a "BBox" return-address label. The two-person delivery team identify themselves only as a logistics company. Delivery is by appointment; we will not leave a piece without an adult signature.
Can you ship custom bondage furniture outside the UK?
Yes. international shipping is by separate quote. Most pieces ship flat-packed for international freight (with assembly instructions) to avoid the £400+ premium for a fully-assembled crate. EU, US, AU, NZ and CA orders are routine; we have shipped to 20+ countries.

Furniture made by hand is built into a relationship, not into a brief.

From the workshop floor

Three things UK bondage-furniture makers don't tell you

1.

Bolted joins fail. Most "bondage" frames sold under £400 use bolt-together steel construction, a frame fails not because the steel is thin but because the bolts loosen under load over months. Continuously welded steel and proper mortise-and-tenon wood joinery are the only durable answers above 100 kg working load.

2.

Wood is a real option, not a downgrade. Most UK retailers default to powder-coated steel because it's faster to fabricate. Solid hardwood, oak, walnut, ash, looks more at home in a bedroom that doubles as a living space, lasts longer, and refinishes (whereas chipped powder-coat is permanent). The price gap is small; the design gap is enormous.

3.

The leather and the joinery are where the price actually goes. Bonded-leather cuff loops crack inside two years; full-grain English bridle leather softens and improves over a decade. Bolt-together pine "bondage" beds creak within months; mortise-and-tenon oak holds for life. We refuse to fit bonded leather or use bolted joinery on any commissioned piece, the price gap is real because the lifespan gap is real.
