1. Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to anyone using bondagebox.co.uk, including browsing, registering an account, placing an order, subscribing to the newsletter, or contacting us through the site. By using the site you accept these terms. If you don't agree to any part, please don't use the site.
The site is operated by the trading entity BondageBox ("we", "us", "our"), correspondence address PO Box 228, Hitchin, Hertfordshire SG4 0WW, contactable at [email protected].
2. Age requirement
The site sells adult products and contains adult content. You must be 18 or over to use this site or place an order. By using the site you confirm that you are.
Where the law of your country of residence sets a higher minimum age for purchase of these products, you confirm you also meet that requirement. We comply with the UK's Online Safety Act 2023 and the Audiovisual Media Services Regulations 2020.
3. Account registration
You don't need an account to browse or order. If you create one, you're responsible for keeping your password secure and the contact details accurate. We can suspend an account for fraudulent behaviour, repeated chargebacks without grounds, or use that violates these terms.
4. Orders and acceptance
Each order placed is an offer to buy from us at the price displayed. We accept your offer when we send you the order-confirmation email containing your order number. Until then, no contract exists and either party can withdraw.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason — typically: a product is mis-priced by a material margin, the item is out of stock and the supplier can't restock within a reasonable window, your address is in a country we can't legally ship to, or the order is flagged for fraud.
5. Pricing and VAT
All prices are in GBP and include VAT at the prevailing UK rate where applicable. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay; we don't add surcharges, processing fees, or hidden costs after order placement.
Pricing errors will be honoured within reason. Egregious mistakes — typically more than 50% below RRP — may be cancelled with a full refund and an apology email; we don't sell premium items at a tenth of cost.
6. Payment
Payment is taken at the time of order via PayPal (which also processes card payments without you needing a PayPal account). We don't see, store, or transmit your card details. PayPal's terms apply to the payment side of the transaction.
For custom-furniture commissions, a 50% deposit is taken at order; the balance is taken on shipment. Cancellations after fabrication has begun forfeit the deposit; we explain this clearly in the commission acknowledgement email.
7. Delivery
Delivery terms — methods, costs, timeframes — are set out in full on the Delivery page. Title in and risk for the goods passes to you on delivery (or on first delivery attempt where you weren't available to sign).
8. Returns and refunds
Returns terms — windows, conditions, procedure — are set out in full on the Returns page. Nothing in these terms or the returns policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
9. Intellectual property
Site content (text, images, layout, code) is our property or used under licence. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit it without written permission. Product photography reproduced from manufacturer feeds remains the manufacturer's IP.
Editorial guides on the /guides/ hub are licensed under Creative Commons CC-BY-NC 4.0 — you may quote, link to, and share them non-commercially with attribution. Commercial republication needs written permission.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose;
- Scrape or copy content for commercial republication;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its underlying systems;
- Submit reviews or content you don't have the right to submit;
- Impersonate another person or business.
11. Reviews and user content
When you submit a review, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to display, edit, and reproduce it on the site and in our marketing. You confirm the review is your honest opinion and not paid for by a manufacturer.
We moderate reviews to remove abuse, spam, or content that identifies third parties without consent. We don't remove reviews simply for being negative.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with your use of the site or any order is limited to the value of the goods ordered. We don't exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else where exclusion isn't permitted by UK law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. The current version always lives at /terms; the "last updated" date moves only on material changes. Continued use of the site after a material change indicates acceptance of the new terms.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or the use of the site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
