Consensual Non-Consent.
Also known as: CNC
A negotiated scene format in which the submissive consents in advance to playing a scene as if they had not consented. CNC is distinct from non-consent: every CNC scene begins with explicit pre-negotiation of hard limits, safewords (often non-verbal because verbal protest is part of the scene), and aftercare protocols. The format is controversial within UK BDSM communities; experienced players approach it only with established partners and explicit risk acknowledgment.
