Role
In rope bondage (shibari, Western rope), the partner who applies the rope; the tying partner. Distinct from a generic dom because the rope top role is about technical execution as much as power exchange; a skilled rope top can work with a partner who is not in a submissive headspace. The term is used in UK rope communities as a neutral technical descriptor independent of D/s context.
