Degradation.

A play format where the dominant uses verbal language or actions that would be insulting outside the scene context (slurs, demeaning instructions, name-calling). Degradation is consensual within the negotiated scene; the line between degradation and abuse is whether the pre-scene negotiation covered the specific language and the words exist within the scene rather than carrying outside it. Heavily personal: words that one submissive finds energising will be harmful to another.
