A riding crop with a wooden handle in purple from Rouge Garments, the long-standing UK leather workshop. 27 inches long overall, with a solid wooden grip ending in a leather lash and a flat leather "keeper" at the tip (the small flap that strikes the skin). The wooden handle is the differentiating feature, weightier and more authentic than the plain rubberised handles on the cheaper end of the category.

Riding crops sit at the sting end of the sting-thud spectrum: focused, narrow, sharp, less forgiving of poor aim than a paddle or flogger but more precise in skilled hands. Strike the fleshy upper-outer buttocks; never on the spine, kidneys, tailbone, or joints.
